The executive team of Grassroots Conservatives asked its network over the weekend which of the five remaining candidates for party leader and thus Prime Minister they would like to see in the last two.

Kemi Badenoch: 61.7% for last two . 41% for PM
Liz Truss: 43% for last two. 16% for PM. 6.8% not on your life
Rishi Sunak: 38% for last two. 6.8% for PM 2% not on your life
Penny Mordaunt: 27% for last two 9% for PM 16% not on your life
